SUNNIE SHEDD, LSCSW, LMAC | THERAPIST

Sunnie specializes in treating conditions that affect mood, thinking, and behavior including, anxiety, depression, dual diagnosis, trauma, and adjustment disorders that result from a stressful life event. She is knowledgeable in addressing anger, boundaries, burn out, emotion dysresgulation, excessive worries & fears, grief & loss, routine difficulties, and self-esteem.

She is rooted in the following evidenced based treatment approaches including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Solutions Focused Therapy all utilized within a strength based and trauma informed care lens. 

She is passionate about working with people ages 16 to 25 who are experiencing mental health struggles and women of all ages who are seeking treatment for female related stressors that may or may not be related to abuse, gender, motherhood, physical health diagnoses, relationship difficulties, shame & guilt, and social & cultural pressures.

Sunnie received her undergraduate degree from Washburn University with a Bachelor’s in Social Work and Addiction Counseling Certification. Sunnie received her graduate degree from The University of Kansas with a Master’s in Social Work. Rock Chalk, Jayhawk!

Sunnie resides in Lawrence, Kansas. Her happy place is anywhere with an ocean view. In her free time, she enjoys interior design, tending to her plant babies, reading, listening to podcasts, music in all forms, and spending time with her family, friends, & beloved dogs, Thunder and Gemmie.
